For the 1/12/16 Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish Read more on Riffle
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
One of two teen titles in this TTT that were THE BOOKS TO HAVE in 2015. I do have a copy so that's the first step.
1 / 10
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams: Stories by Stephen King
This one is truly embarrassing. There was a day when reading a brand spanking new Stephen King would take precedence over everything else. It's not that it doesn't now, but I think I'm saving this one for a rainy day (literally, rain is rare here and I always need appropriate reading material for the few storms we do get!).
2 / 10
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
The other BIG BOOK of 2015. And now there's a sequel due out too. I'm going to have to get to this one before both of them are waiting in my TBR.
3 / 10
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
I've had this one in hand an embarrassing amount of time. And it's right up my alley too. I will definitely get to it before the movie comes out.
4 / 10
Golden Son (Red Rising Series) by Pierce Brown
This one almost slipped past me. We were in San Diego right around the time the author was doing a signing and I should have bought the book then. Maybe with my holiday book money...
5 / 10
Recipes for Love and Murder: A Tannie Maria Mystery by Sally Andrew
This one just sounds cool! It's being compared to No. 1 LADIES DETECTIVE AGENCY, the tv adaptation of which was my happy place for a while. I wanted to see if this one was worthy of the comparison but haven't gotten to it yet.
6 / 10
A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston
Fairy tale and folklore retellings are a definite favorite of mine and 1,001 Nights is one I've been looking forward to seeing done. In my defense, I haven't actually had this one in the TBR that long but it was a 2015 release I'd hoped to get to.
7 / 10
Our Lady of the Ice by Cassandra Rose Clarke
In the list of books I desperately HAD to have, this one probably tops them all. And then I didn't get to read it. Soon. Very, very soon!
8 / 10
The Heir (The Selection) by Kiera Cass
I love this series but ended up buying the book for my sister for Christmas. Now I'll have to borrow it from her.
9 / 10
X-Files: Trust No One by Brian Keene
An anthology to beat all anthologies! And with X-FILES due back this month for a mini series, too. I bought it as soon as it came out and it's been waiting by my bedside since.
